I've got the blues...

When we were home in New Brunswick this summer, I finally got to visit my friend Liz's weaving shop in Saint John, NB.  Her great shop is called Good Fibrations.  If you get a chance to stop in, you should.  In the front of the shop is a great stash of yarn for sale, some they bring in from MacAusland's Woolen Mills in PEI, and some they dye themselves in house - it's gorgeous stuff!  They have woven scarves and ponchos they've made in house for sale, and other neat weaving materials, tools, spinning and weaving machinery too!

I was drawn to their hand dyed stash.  Some is 100% silk, some silk noil, some is sock wool, and some is merino.  No matter what you find, it's scrummy (technical yarn describing word meaning scrumptious, yummy, tactile heaven!)  I took home three skeins: 1 sock wool (merino & cashmere in blues and purples), 1 silk (in purples and browns) and 1 silk noil (in purples and blues).

I had a warp to dress the loom with upon our return that was aptly named "Peacock" because it was turquoise, emerald green, and navy blue.  It popped, but I didn't know what to weave into it as weft.  Until I brought home the above yarns, that is.  The warp gave me two very long (100" plus) scarves with fringes and they are divine!  I leave you with the images of the two scarves.
