One more week...

In one week, I start back to school and need to find balance between my weaving and the real work that pays the bills!

I have been so productive this summer.  I finished a huge basket of weaving projects before we went to New Brunswick in July.  Since getting back, I've dressed the loom three times and woven all three warps off.  I still have one to go and I'm optimistic I'll have that on and off before Friday.

There is some finishing I need to get done before school calls me back, but then I will have all summer projects completed and will work on finding that project I can do while working.  I have an idea, but I'll know once I start in September what is really possible.  Luckily, this year, there are no evening obligations for kid stuff around here, at least none that I'm responsible for!

I wanted to show you a new idea I came up with this summer - a woven cowl.  I know, I didn't invent it but boy am I glad I figured out how to make it work!  More of a serendipity moment during finishing, I'll take it!

So far, I have three completed, and another three to weave (that's my final project mentioned earlier).  Here are my first three cowls.

cowl, neutrals and seaglass green (cotton and cotton chenille)

cowl, neutrals and cream (cotton and cotton chenille)

cowl, peacock blues and greens (cotton and wool bouclée)
