Finding balance....
This going back to work thing is creating a new hurdle to weaving. I'm so tired at the end of the week that I have zero energy to go sit at the loom. I still have a project ready and waiting to go on the loom. It's going to be cowls. Okay, I'll be honest. There are two warp chains waiting to get on the loom. Both intended to be cowls.
But here's what's taking my time: kids in school (both), new activity routines, work, seeing my family outside of those times. I'm okay with that. Sooner than later the new routines will be the steady pace and I'll find time to weave.
In school, I'm fibre funning. My textiles students (grade 10-12) are learning to knit, weave on a table loom, weave baskets, play on an inkle loom, branch weave, and so much more...and that's all before Thanksgiving break! The real treat, is that I'm planning an cedar weaving workshop for them in October. I'm so excited!
No pics this time around (see the first paragraph), but soon...so very soon...I'll have something to show and tell about.
In the meantime, here's an old photo - but a good one - the first owls I ever made.
