I'm BACK!
Well, let's just say that the pandemic had me slow down a lot, so much so I almost stopped weaving because I picked up knitting needles and started that whole new process.
2020 also saw our family move from BC back to NB and settle in the Kennebecasis Valley. It is where my husband and I grew up, but have not lived since we met!
I finally have an in home studio all set up with my 45" Leclerc Loom, 24" Woolhouse Loom and my sewing stations with my Maggie machine (Janome) and my new to me Singer Serger. It's a beautiful thing to have a room dedicated to this practice so I can slowly get back to weaving.
I started working almost the moment we landed in NB, so time in the studio is sparse at best - but my goal is to bring it all back and spend more time in there. It's good for my mind and heart.
A door was opened for me this summer, and I jumped through it. Kings Landing in Prince William, NB is a historical village that depicts the time of the Loyalists in NB. Weaving was a handicraft in that time, and is a desired item for their giftshop. After replying to an appeal for handiwork from NB artists, I am happy to say my work was chosen and I'm busy getting the last scarves off the loom and some more bathmitts on (and then off) to send up there next week.
Below are pictures of the inventory I'm prepping to send to Kings Landing. If you're driving by this summer, stop in and walk through the Village. It's a wonderful afternoon, or all day visit!
